MONDAY - October 1, 2000

I went shopping today. I bought some “Stop-Shed” (ad dietary supplement) for Kira. She has a major shedding problem. Also went over to Pet Smart and bought a shedding brush designed to remove shedding hair.
I got a new belt. A toilet brush (we REALLY needed one of those!). I got some hair colour... I am starting to look kind of drab.

MONDAY - October 2, 2000

I got my first PAGE from Jack at work today. Unfortunately, it was to let me know that Kira had... “had an accident” in the living room. It was because of the “Stop-Shed” stuff I gave her! Now I need to buy some “Stop-Shit” !! Anyway... I dread going home to deal with THIS mess!!
Lisa was out with a sick child today.

Ok... got home... yes it was bad. I took Kira for a (much needed) walk. I was not happy with her. She knew it. But, I feel bad; it was not really HER fault. I was the one that gave her the “dietary supplement” that flushed through her. Well, after coming back in the house, the phone rang. It was my Aunt Marlene calling from Texas. I talked with her for over an hour... then Adam came home. I still had not cleaned up after Kira... I was kind of embarrassed. I ended my conversation with Marlene, but not before I got my cousin Lola’s address from her.

I cleaned up after Kira and then proceeded to vacuum the entire house. Hopefully THAT made up for her transgression.

TUESDAY - October 3, 2000
MY BIRTHDAY!!!! (I’m 43!?)

I went to the Zone after work and had a couple of drinks, then headed home to walk Kira. Jack was busy cleaning house and he had a birthday present for me! A CROCKPOT!!! Just what I have been wanting!! I was just looking at some of them at the store on Sunday! That was so nice.

Then we went out for dinner at Union Station. We had a wonderful seafood dinner and some cocktail (maybe a few too many!). Then we went over to the “Key West” bar and had a couple more drinks.

We were going to take the MetroLink home, but it looked like it might be a while before the train arrived and the security guard was kind of scaring us! ... So we just called a cab. The cabbie was Ethiopian and was of course duly impressed when I spoke my limited Ethiopian with him. My vocabulary is limited, but my pronunciation is (as usual) excellent.

MONDAY - October 9, 2000
SKIP’S BIRTHDAY!!!! (he’s 32!)

Today was hectic at work. I sent an email to Adelous (Skip’s boss), wishing Skip a happy birthday.

TUESDAY - October 10, 2000

Nothing major has been going on. I haven’t been keeping my entries going. Yesterday was Skip’s 32nd birthday.

WEDNESDAY - October 11, 2000

Today was another BUSY day at work! Boy...it has been hectic all week! Stopped and had a cocktail on the way home. Took Kira for a walk and there was a Possum up on the power line. Don’t ask why, but I tried to knock it down with my keys... succeeded in breaking my key chain ornament! The possum just waited till we finally went away. Poor thing. Then I walked down to Talayna’s with the book I’m reading and had some jalapeño poppers and some coconut jumbo shrimp. Paid WAY too much for it all!

THURSDAY - October 12, 2000

I went shopping tonight. It’s such a pain not having a car. It takes about 2 hours to go to the store, and then one can only buy as much as one can carry!

FRIDAY - October 13, 2000

I got mugged tonight. The culprits are in jail. I will [try to] elaborate later.

SATURDAY - October 14, 2000

I spent most of the day at the court house. More detail later.

SUNDAY - October 15, 2000

I should have/intended to, go to the 9th precinct where they have my money (related to Friday night’s mugging ... I’ll explain later). I was kind of down and could not get up the energy to go anywhere or do anything.

MONDAY - October 16, 2000

Today was not as busy as usual for a Monday, but Lisa was out with a tooth problem and will be out until Wednesday. This made it pretty hectic for me and Tracy!

Oh... today was bosses day. I send Tracy an e-card (I would have done something nicer, but didn’t know it was bosses day until the last minute!) . Brenda and Tracy took Laura out to lunch and brought me back THE most delicious Reubin sandwich. I’ve got to get another one of those!

TUESDAY - October 17, 2000

Lisa was out again today. She is due back tomorrow. It’s been hectic without her. Otherwise, the day was fairly typical. However, I attended an EASL meeting last night. There was a big political debate going on at Wash U. tonight also. My Esperanto was much more fluent at tonight’s meeting, I am glad to say.

I put a pot roast (pork) on in my new crock pot last night. It smelled great when I got up this morning. I also waxed the floor in the kitchen before going to work. So domestic! :)

I got my new HP C-200 Digital Camera which I bought used from Terry today. Here is one of my first bunch of photos of Kira.
