12:30a - I am still up, drinking beer, and SO happy it is the weekend!! Skip got some overtime, so he was able to pay me a little more than usual tonight. I got my raise and retro pay too, so I had a little more cash on hand today. It was rainy and cold today. I walked over to Wal-Mart, Schucks and the Dollar store. I fixed Samhainfest (pronounced "SOH-wen-fest") tonight. My big ViewSonic Monitor died today. I was very upset. Skip hooked up my ancient little HP monitor which I paid $70 in 1998 ... used.... and it is working. At least I know it is not the integrated video card on the mother board. I am very upset by this. The best monitor I have ever owned and it only survives a few days past its warranty period (which was 10/10/03). Very suspicious yet typical of todays world. I started working on my first Dream Catcher today. It's going "okay" ... but could be better. It is my first attempt though, so don't laugh! I referred to this site for some of my information. Today, in opposition to yesterday, was actually warm and sunny! I even turned on the A/C! It was a beautiful day and I wasted most of it... sadly. 6:37p - I just dyed my hair (Macadamia) and am going to walk over to Wal-Mart... or ride with Tad I think... 8:55p - Just got back from Wal-Mart with Tad. I spent $63... mostly nothing I really needed. I just felt like shopping! 11:26p - I got a new 3 quart cooking pot with a built in strainer. Very nice. A new potato peeler, some protective matting for the cabinets, some stakes for the pepper plants, a big candle, and a crap-load of new socks (those were pretty much needed).
12:25a - I am off to bed. I came home tonight and, as expected, Skip had not done dishes, had not taken the garbage out, left lights on and didn't even close his bedroom door before crashing in bed. I expected as much and was not surprised or any more upset than usual. However, then I discovered that the refridgerator had finally DIED! It was a mess. Everything had completely thawed. My T-day turkey (which I bought early for the first in my life) was completely thawed; the ice trays were filled with luke-warm water; blood tainted water was pooling in the floor around the 'fridge and it was a mess. I had to throw out about. I called Tad, but Deana was there. She came over and help (even did my dishes, much to my chagrin). I have hopefully salvaged a few items by storing them in their fridge, but I still had to throw away a lot. Including most of the peppers and all of the tomatoes that I had frozen! I was sick over it... just sick. I put the turkey in the oven and baked it. I didn't get to bed until after 2:00a ! I spent much of the time composing a letter in which I vented a bit vehemently to my landlords about the situation. I was tired this morning, but I dragged myself to work. I was so depressed and distraught over the refrigerator. I still managed to do some more of my on-line training. I finished the Level-II course in Windows XP Professional and printed out my little certificates. I have tomorrow scheduled off. I have a doctor's appt in the morning and now I am going to try to coordinate with Tad to go find a new fridge. LZ gave me a ride home, stopping by Taco Bell. I picked up 3 tacos, an Steak Stuft Burrito, and a Mex-pizza. I managed to eat all but the pizza. I was so upset tonight. Skip (again) left my TV all disconnected and lost the remote control. I finally got it working. I finally got to bed around 10:30 and went right to sleep. Then woke up around 12am ... it was getting chilly. I went into the living room to close the window and the smell was getting gross... and it did not smell quite like spoiling food as I expected. I turned on the lights and found that Kira had a diarrhea attack (on the carpet, of course). The odor was horrendus. It was nearly 1:00a and I did not want to deal with it. I went back to bed. However, the responsibility of cleaning up this mess weighed upon me and I finally got up in disgust and went in search of cleaning tools. I had to call Skip at work to see if he knew where the carpet scrubbing brush had gone ... of course he knew not where it might be, but I eventually found it in a basket in the kitchen. I cleaned, scrubbed and gagged until it was taken care of, then headed back to bed. However, the house now REEKED and it was very bad. I had heart burn and was in a most foul and rank mood. Then MY stomach started to act up and I had to get up about every 10 minutes for the next hour and rush to the bathroom myself! Sometimes shortly after 2:00am I got up and let Kira go outside. While she was out, I called my doctor's office and cancelled my appointment. I knew I could not make it. I was not only tired, but it was cold and raining out. I just could not deal with it. Besides, I had to go find a refrigerator and did not want to be tired out from already having been through the ordeal of traveling for hours on public transit! I got up around 10:30a and finished off the cold mex-pizza. It was not until about 1 or 2pm before Tad and I got out to go look for a fridge. He had to go talk to his Aunt first, so he dropped me off at Jay International and I did some shopping there. We checked about 4 different places, including Baileys, McGills (or some such); Lowe's; and finally Home Depot. We finally decided on a 25 cu. ft. side-by-side (with ice maker & front dispenser) for $696.00. It cost me over $800 total with fees & such. Tad and I went to Southern Bell ... I paid nearly $50 for a couple of meals (which were tasty, but not very filling) and had about 4 beers. We came home and I ended up going over to Tad's and cooking again! I took my rice cooker and spices, including the fried shallots that I picked up today. I used his jar of Thai peanut sauce to cook the meat... yum! It was good! 11:33p - Time for bed now. I've been trying to upload my journal, but there seems to be some kind of connection issue. 11:40p - I killed Skip's connection and then my file uploaded. Strange. Well... I am off to bed now. 7:52a - I am up this morning but SO sleepy! I think its because I took my meds late lastnight. I feel "disconnected" from my hands this morning. It cold and overcast out. Rained much of the night. I was so tired this morning. It was an awesome task to drag myself to work. Lisa Z. was not at work today, so it was a bit tougher than usual. Skip called me this afternoon and told me the refridgerator had arrived. Once again, I just sat at home drinking beer. This is getting to be very monotonous. I created the I finally walked to the store around 7pm and bought some fish and some broccoli for supper. I ended up scorching my brand new pot this evening! I was very upset with myself. That was so stupid. I got my blood test information from the doctor today. Eveything was very good again. The medicines are doing their work, but they take such a toll on me. I got up around 11am (actually, Kira got me up). I made an omlette out of leftover brocolli and leftover turkey with cheese. Marty brought his used 17" monitor over. Skip and I are bored. He is up and awake at this time of day because he starts his new position at 8am tomorrow morning. I hope it works out well for him. 2:28p - Skip, Deana and I are going to go to Talayna's. 2:50p - We're just about ready to go. I took lots of pictures tonight. We went to Talayna's, then to Hooter's (where we actually ate a bite). It was a very enjoyable evening! Nothing to write home about, but still very enjoyable!
12:34a - I have been up working on pictures, sending email (and drinking a few brewskies) for way too long. I need to go to bed. Skip wend to bed long ago... He has to be to his new job at 8a tomorrow. 1:37a - I have been working on email and doing laundry... it is WAY too late! I must be getting off to bed now!!! 6:12a - I am laying in bed and feel awful. I think I know why. I just realized I forgot to take my Atenalol last night (my blood pressure medication). In fact, I can't remember if I took it the night before either! I forced myself to get up; Skip was alerady up for his first day on the new "day" job. I took my medicine and some asprin and went back to bed. I dozed for about an hour, but I was feeling worse. I tried to get up and get ready for work, but I was so sick and dizzy. I was having to hug the walls to walk to the other room I didn't want to, but I had to all in sick. I stayed in bed until around noon before I felt better. I knew I was getting better because I was hungry. But my stomach continued to knot up and cramp all day. I ground up the remainer of the turkey I cooked last Monday and made trukey salad with walnuts and terragon. I put it on a croissant, much like Serzio used to make at "The Bistro" in the old American Plaza in Orlando. Not quite the same, but still pretty good. I watched the episodes 3 through 9 of "Animatrix" while resting at home today (I watched 1 and 2 last night). I took the DVD back and picked up "Finding Nemo," which I watched this evening. Skip watched the last half with me. It was very light, uplifting and fun to watch. I needed something light hearted; I am so depressed about missing a day of work. 9:13p - Skip just finished moving the desk from the office area to his room and is in the process of setting up my old computer in his room now. He is going to see if he can get it on-line. He is using the old monitor that Marty brought over yesterday. We're making *some* progress. His first day of work left him fairly pooped. That's a good sign; it means they are getting a lot of use out of him. 11:14p - Well... I am going to bed early tonight! Tuesday
- November 11, 2003 I was full of energy today. Of course, I have not taken any meds except my bp med, PLUS I got a lot of rest. That will do it. I started back on my normal regimen this morning actually. I expect to be exhausted tomorrow. BS was out sick today and seveal other people were out sick yesterday... it's that time of year! Skip and I had lunch together! I am so happy and proud of him and his new position! I hope it all works out. He seems to like it and is putting forth a good effort. I bout two more weekly organizers for my pills at Wal-Mart tonight. I filled them both, so now I have a 3 week supply of meds & vitamins ready to take. This shold help me stay on track. Tad called me tonight and said something about us moving to a new house! What?! we will have to talk about this further... you don't just call me tell me I am moving! This move has been traumatic enough.
7:36a - As expected, I feel pretty gross this morning. Hopefully the caffeine, ginseng and vitamin B complex will give me a boost. 7:38a - I better hurry ... haven't showered yet and Kira is still outside! I am re-reading another old book from my collection called "Mindwipe." I am over half way through it. I wore my light City jacket to work today, but it was so warm standing at the bus stop that I had to take it off! Poor BS was coughing really bad today. I hope I don't get whatever it is! It was cold by the time I left work this evening. I wish I had worn a heavier jacket. I had ask Skip yesterday if he would let Kira out when he gets home since she doesn't have anyone here all day long now. He didn't and shortly after he got home she pooped in the living room. I couldn't really be mad at her since she did hold it all day, waited until someone got home, and finally couldn't hold it any longer. She was obviously ashamed and guilty, but I had to give her the cold shoulder at least anyway (which is painful to me). I think she is getting into Barnabas' cat food and it's messing her up. Skip has put her food up on the dryer ... this will have to be a temporary solution. Skip's new position is going well it seems, except he is talking my ear off in the evening! My free time has become his time to hold me captive! I watched the end (the part I had not seen) of "Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story" on TV until midnight last night. 7:34a - I did not sleep well last night. More insomnia. I think I will try Tylenol PM's tonight. I must get more sleep, but the meds are continuing to take their toll (even while doing their job!). 7:49a - Kira has been out all this time while I took my shower. I am trying to let her stay out longer. We don't want a repeat of last night! I just had a vicious sneezing fit... I hope I am not catching a bug! At least it is sunny out this morning, but cold. I think I will wear my big coat today. I got an "MIR Blanket" today. I was really hoping to get one. I was willing to pay for it. I did not realize we were all supposed to get one. I missed my bus on the way home again tonight, but I went over to the nearby bar and had a few beers and waited for the next one. Unfortunately, I left my new blanket sitting on the bar stool! I am SO irritated with myself. I didn't even get to look at it. I was still all rolled up. Oh well, such is life. I got up this morning and made some left over soup stuff. It wasn't very good. I ate a few bites of it and started to watch Skip's DVD "Terminator 3," but Tad called and I had to get ready to take Kira to the Vet. Tad is taking Brandy. We left a little after 10am. This new Vet's name is Bruce. I spent $227 getting Kira's blood work, vaccinations, and some medicine for her incontinency problem. Money well spent I think. I went over to Wal-Mart later and bought several big plastic tubs with lids and other plastic containers. I am going to try to get some stuff organized. Later, Skip and I went out again. I was hungry since I had nothing to eat since the unappetizing soup crap I made this morning. We ended up walking to Wal-Mart and I bough MORE plastic containers! Then we went to Schnucks, but I waited out side. Deana came and picked us up and we ended up going by Taco Bell for some food. They had the worst service! It took Skip and Deana about 20 minutes to get their modest order. Mine had come out before theirs and I finally broke down and ate all but one item before we even left! After we got home, I finally watched T3. It was a pretty good movie, especially for a third sequel (or whatever it's called). I was supposed to go to my Esperanto meeting in U.City today, but it was just more than I could deal with. I was tired and did not want to deal with the bus/train mess. I made some menudo for breakfast from one of the cans of menudo I bought at Jay's. It was just what I needed! It hit the spot. I think the pills are helping Kira. I haven't seen a "wet spot" on her bed. However, not much time his passed, so it's kind of hard to say yet. I spent much of today cleaning out some boxes and FINALLY cleaned out my top two dresser drawers. It has been over 20 years since the left side drawer was cleaned out... for real! I found so many old mementos. I also threw away a bunch of clothing, and washed and 'en-tubbed' about 35 shirts that I don't wear any more. My bedroom is a lot roomier! It was a exhausting day, but work well done. I walked over to KFC for some chicken tonight. I should have some left over for lunch tomorrow. Back to work today. I did not get to sleep until after 2:00a, so I was tired this morning. Kira had another "leak" ... so I don't know about the pills. We might have to increase the dosage, which means more I will have to get more pills. (There are 60 in the container, good for about a month @ two per day). I took some habañero peppers to Maurice in the Olin Hall cafeteria today. Skip once again "intended" to take the garbage out, but I ended up doing it again. It started to rain just as I got everything out there. I threw away a butt-load of clothes! That is something of a first for me. I rarely throw things away. I forgot to take my leftover chicken with me, but I met Skip for lunch. I had a bowl of their "steak & rice" soup and a slice of pizza. One or both of them gave me heart burn. 8:55p - I am tired tonight and am going to bed early. I have 2 beers that I am going to drink. I fixed some rice with the leftover KFC. 9:02p - Good news! Kira's blood work came back and everything looks good "for a dog her age" ... including NO HEART WORMS! That was my big concern! I am so glad to know I have won THAT battle! 9:44p - I scanned in some of my old bootcamp pictures today. I am in the process of emailing them to Chuck at the moment. As soon as they are done, I am hitting the rack (to recall an old Navy expression!). 9:54p - Off to bed.... Tuesday - November 18, 2003 8:00a - I got about NINE hours of sleep last night! I had to get up once to let Kira go peepee... she finally decided it was more important that waiting for the rain to quit. In fact, it is still raining. I am supposed to get my flu shot this morning. I am wearing my read WU shirt with short sleeves this time. I get tired of forgetting and wearing a long sleeved shirt which makes getting a shot in the upper arm difficult. Kira left another wet spot this morning. I don' think the medicine, or her current dosage, is doing the trick. At least I don't have to be concerned about the heart worms! 8:03a - Time to go... I dread standing out in the rain this morning. <sigh> What a mess. Oh... I noticed water trickling out of the power outlett in the bathroom (the one and only one in the bathroom ... which doesn't work). Anyway... I'm must be off.... Wow... it quit raining just long enough for me to catch the bus! How considerate of the Rain God! I got my flu shot on time today. Robin P. and I were 3rd & 4th people in line this time (last time I was down the hall and out the lobby for a 30 minutes wait! Lisa Z. gave me a ride home. Skip had actually pulle the dumpster up to the house (but not around back). I left it where it was. We will see if I have to do that too. I must say that it is nice having the lights on outside when I get home, now that Skip is up. He still tends to talk my ears off during what used to be my personal "quiet time." We will work it out. I bitch about him a lot, but we really get along together pretty good over all. I looked at my old friend/roommate's website at Oeschlaw today. I had some suggestions for him which I hope he appreciated. I spent a lot of time actually working on site ideas for him tonight. Skip had some relevant input too. 12:42a - I am on my way to bed. I just finished eating some leftover menudo mixed with a mac&cheese&ham concoction that Skip made (after bashing MY cooking!). It wasn't too bad once I diluted the salt value from it! Deana was just over (boy... she was a bit... well... woozy!). 12:44a - Okay... off to bed for me. I should have been in bed 2 hours ago! 7:54a - I feel yucky this morning. I think I am (as usual) having a mild reaction to the flu shot. I had a headache, but I got up and took some aspirin and that may have helped. I am struggling to be on time this morning though, so I had better hurry. I received a letter from Marlene tonight (sent on Nov 5th), and a letter with pictures from Darlene. I also received my video tape of the Cherokee animation all in Tsalagi with English subtitles. It should be interesting when I get time to watch it. Then Marlene called me (what a busy evening!). Unfortunately, she had bad news. Uncle Sheno (Rosando Muñoz) has been diagnosed with cancer. He has to get a biopsy (tomorrow?) at St. Luke's Hospital in Houston. They won't know much details until after all this. I picked up a pork butt to cook tonight and some turkey gizzards. Tad and Kyle (the DJ from the party) were coming into the store as I was leaving, so I ended up getting a ride with them. I ended up just cooking the gizzards. There were more than I realized! I cooked them with one of the habañero peppers and one big red jalapeño. They were quite spicy. I cooked some ears of corn with them too, but they came out tough and not very good. I made some rice with the spicy broth, but it didn't come out very good either... too dry. The broccoli and cheese turn out passable, but the rest was not so good. Well... the gizzards were okay. I wore my big yellow coat to work today, but it was not even close to being cold! It was a beautiful day. We found out that we have to move all of our stuff from our work area by Friday evening. They will begin construction on our new work area Monday morning. They are supposed to be done by Wednesday, but I expect that is overly optimistic! We had some network drop this afternoon. Lost Lotus Notes, IDXRad, Internet Connectivity, Applix (aka "Crapplix"). So I decided to spend some time packing my stuff up in my cubicle. As usual, I have collect more junk than is believable! I stopped off at Wal-Mart this evening and got Darlene and Devon a birthday card and a Wal-Mart/Sam's gift card for their birthdays. They like Wal-Mart so I suspect they can really use and will enjoy the cards. I bought ingredients to make some burritos tonight, but I just had some beers and was too tired to cook. Skip made some extras/leftovers of egg & ham burritos and I scarfed them both down. I slept through 11 minutes of my alarm this morning! I NEED MORE SLEEP! I managed to get through the morning rituals, including giving Kira her pill. She just licks it up out of her dish and swallows it whole I think! She's doesn't have a problem with taking her meds anyway. I went to work with no jacket at all today. It was cool, but not uncomfortable. I am currently re-reading another of my old books. This one is actually news (1993). The title is "Silver Princess, Golden Knight" by Sharon Green (author of "Dawn Song"). I ended on page 246 of 341 today. I should have taken my camera with me today! I completely forgot. We had our Thanksgiving luncheon; and LR's "shower" before she leaves to Russia to get Viktoria, the young girl she is adopting. This should be quite an adventure for her! I got most of my cubicle finished up this evening. Lisa Z. left early and is going to come in on the morrow to finish moving things. I suppose construction will be well underway when I get to work on Monday. It's going to be a mess living out of boxes ... probably all of next week. 8:26p - I am having some beer & pork rinds while catching up my entries. Kira has been fed, and I am washing her bed. Skip has gone over to see Deana. I received my PSP-8 CD in the mail today! My next chore this evening will be to install it. I hope it is not a hassle. I got up early this morning and got industrious. I started by getting the dishes ready to wash. Skip said it was his turn though, and that he would do them, so I just got them all ready in a sink full of hot soapy water. Then I got the picnic roast out and prepared it. I took 2 habañero peppers and on jalapeño and put them in the food processor with 5 or 6 cloves of garlic. I poured in some Rosé winde and pureéd them well. I strain the juice and repeated. Then I added about an equal part of melted margarine and additional garlic & onions seasonings. I took the resulting juice and injected the meat full of this seasoning and put it in the oven at about 10:30am. I took my "bag lady" cart and went over to Wal-Mart later. I picked up about 4 more plastic tubs and a couple of smaller ones. Skip joined me on the excursion. Then we went over to the Dollar Store and I bought some candles and he got a new coffee cup. It was a beautiful day. Maybe our last one of the year. It's supposed to rain and maybe snow tomorrow. I took the pork butt out of the oven a little after 2pm. It was perfectly cooked and just slightly spicey. Not over powering like I was afraid. I will use THIS technique again! I got almost all of the boxes in the kitchen cleaned out and re-organized! Marty, JR, and Billy came over tonight. I got them to watch my Cherokee video/animation "In The Beginning They Told"... mostly for Billy's sake. They carted off over a barrell full of cans tonight! I had a touch of a hangover from a few too many beers last night, but I still got up fairly early. It wasn't too cold out, but it was getting cooler. I mostly sat around watching TV (the entire "Chameleon" series) and eating today, but later in the evening I actually got motivated and finishing unpacked and organizing ALL the rest of the boxes in the kitchen! ... plus, I got the plants inside in case it freezes tonight. They may be in for the rest of the winter now. I got to bed around 12:30a.
This morning started off weird... with some strange chick from a few blocks down running up in my yard just as I was getting ready for work. She was all freaked out that "somebody" was in her house. I asked her if she wanted me to call the police, but she said to give her a minute. She sat down in the yard and was panting ...out of breath. I said I did not really have a minute... that I had to catch my bus (I was already 2-3 minutes behind my normal time). She ended up walking with me to the bus stop. It was frreezing out ... literally! Snow flakes were falling, although the sun was shining. Very pretty actually. I don't know what happened with the weird chick. I saw her walking down Camp Jackson road when I was on the bus. She only had a light sweat-shirt on, so I know she was freezing. I think she was on dope, frankly. Then... the bus went the wrong way. We went WAY off on some weird route. I think the (new?) driver was lost. Fortunately, we made it to the train depot in a relatively "normal" time frame. Work was hectic, trying to work from DR's desk without my computer or my normal references. What a mess! I was so stressed by lunch, I walked over to Hon's and had somt Tso's chicken. This is going to be a LONG week.... Then Skip called me on his way home. His friend at work, Dominic, has been "missing" for 2 weeks. He did not pick up his pay check last Friday. His girlfridn (they have 3 kids) called work asking if anyone knew where he was. They found him last night. In a house in North County. Dead. He and at least one other person were found dead. So badly decomposed that they could only identify him because he had a WU ID on his person. They say "no foul play" was found, but... it sounds pretty weird to me. Skip is very upset about his friend's death (of course). Even I had heard of him; Skip mentioned him many times, but I had not met him. Damn... Kira shit on the floor again tonight! I should NOT have fed her those pieces of fat from the ham. WHEN will I learn!? Skip took the garbage out, including a truck load of boxes and trash the I emptied this weekend. That is that much less weight in MY life! YAY!!! 11:30p - It's about time for bed!
It is cold out again this morning. I over slept. I am very sleepy this morning. I was just remembering that 15 years ago today, Doug and I were headed to Key West to visit Jack in our new Toyota Celica. What a fun trip that was. Meanwhile, back in Oklahoma, Darlene was getting a C-section and bringing Devon into the world! Nine months later they would be moving to Florida to live with Doug and I. I miss those days BS suggested that I come in 2 hours late tomorrow since they are planning on letting everyone go home 2 hours early. I always end up having to cover until 6pm, or LZ has to cover from home. It's always a problem for the Help Desk staff. I walked over to Wal-Mart tonight and bought a Black & Decker drill/driver! My very first ever drill... awwww. I will use it to put my shelves up, and to fix my dresser first of all. Skip tells me there is a special at Wal-Mart this Friday on PC's for only $498.00... he wants me to front him the money for it. I got to work a little after 11:00a today. It was hectic. BS was not there as her mother seems to have taken a turn for the worse. This is an awful thing to have happen over the Thanksgiving holiday. I do not envy her. Even though the was supposed to be a short day, it seem very long to me. I was able to get most of my computer system hooked up and online in my new cubicle. It sure is tiny, but at least it provides a little privacy. Skip met me at Wal-Mart and we went over to Schucks and got some last minute shopping done. I started cooking my "Watsigu ale Hawiya" (acorn squash stuffed with sausage & pecans). I got up about 7:50a and put the Watsigu ale Hawiya back in the oven, took my pills, let Kira out, gave her pills to her, then went back to bed. I got back up around 9:00a. Skip was up. I removed the Watsigu ale Hawiya from the oven and proclaimed it done. 1:07p - Skip is in the kitchen cooking the Hawiya Siqua (pork shoulder) and Hawiya Gvna (turkey). I will make Dalonega ale Itse (Golden Salad) and some selu (corn). 1:16p - Skip just called me... he is done in the kitchen for now. My turn!
The meal was great... we were stuffed. We could have fed another 10 people with ease! After eating, we watch a DVD (I think it was called "Brining Down the House" with Steve Martin and Queen Latifa); very funny movie, but apparently I saw the last half of it (though I don't recall when). Tadd went out with Mike. He invited me, but I have to work tomorrow, and after my last excursion with them ... maybe I had best not... I did not get to bed until around 2:00a !! (I know I will regret the morrow!)
I was tired, as expected. I had some strange dreams about sqirrels last night. Squirrel that spun webs like spiders! ... very strange! I woke up to the sounds of Skip assembling his new computer. He owes me now... sheesh. I know I probably should not have done this, but he needs his own computer and want him to have one. Maybe he will learn something useful when he owns his own system. Maybe.... I started reading Book #10 of Robert Jordan's "Wheel of Time" this morning. I have been reading this series for about 8 years now! There was no one to cover me for lunch today, so I just left! I was going to try to mail Quinn's quilt square to Echota, but the frelling post office was closed. I bought stamps the other day, but I carefully put them in my checkbood, which I placed in my satchel, which I then decided NOT to carry with me this morning, so I had no stamps. So then I went to get some food, but the Olin Hall cafeteria was closing earlier than normal, so I had to walk over to Hon's Wok and got another order of General Tso's Chicken and read my book. I got most of my stuff moved into my cubicle this evening! However, the phone still doesn't work, so I had to run for it everytime it rang. 1:19a - Skip and I just finished a major chore of putting the legs on my ancient old dresser! Wow... it was more work than I expected! ... but its finally up on 4 feet again! Marty and JR came over today and we spent 4 or 5 hours patching the big hold in the fence. I used a skill say (maybe for the first time in my life). The patch looks "funny" but it's much better than it was! We also built a small fence on the other side of the house to block off that area so Kira won't wander out into the road (or chase a squirrel out... or whatever). I think we did a pretty good job! It may not win any home & garden contest, but it's functional and adequate. I am glad it is finally done!
